A comprehensive plan for the wedding day begins with a consultation. Getting to know the bride and her wedding ideas  is essential for a well-planned event.  Additionally. as a wedding day coordinator, I am concerned with making sure everything runs smoothly on the day. We represent the bride and make sure her plans are carried out perfectly

Most North Carolina brides have been planning their wedding since they were children, dreaming and looking at wedding ideas. The one thing they don’t think much about is how things will run on the wedding day.  This is where we come in. Complete wedding planning can be extremely expensive and for some of our brides, we are the only assistance they can afford for the day of the event.  We do our best to provide a well put together timeline of events on the day.  This will help them enjoy the actual ceremony, it will start on time, and they may also have time to stand pretty for the important photographs of the day.

Seating before the ceremony:  The Prelude

Before the wedding ceremony begins, one of the most stressful areas of concern is getting the guests seated.  This sounds like an easy task.  However, with Uncle Ted speaking to Aunt Jennie for the first time in years and other guests looking for people they know it can be a slippery slope.  The groom too, is noticed by all standing there and just waiting to talk to any of the guests.

A good wedding day coordinator will handle this and encourage all to be seated so the prelude music can start and therefore the wedding can start on time.  How many times have you been at a wedding and the ceremony was very late getting started because no once will be seated?  This is a major concern at ceremonies and something every coordinator has to deal with in a courteous yet firm way.

How important is the photography after the ceremony?

The biggest complaint from photographers and from brides (after the wedding day)  is that they did not have enough time to get all of the shots the bride wanted.  Family shots and other wedding pictures takes time.  All of the family must be gathered together after the ceremony and posed for the photo memories.  This will not happen without a bit of assistance from the wedding day coordinator.

Should you have a receiving line?

After the ceremony, the normal sequence of events is for the couple to stand with the wedding party and greet all guests.  This is known as the “receiving line.” The time this takes can take away from photos.  The photo time must be planned carefully, taking into account how much time there will be between the ceremony and reception.

If time allows, a receiving line is great.  However, if time does not allow for this to occur then the couple can easily put that off until they are seated at dinner.  The guests can come by and say hello at that time.  This will free up the time for more family photos.  This is just one of the issues which can arise on the wedding day.

Conclusion on why you should hire a wedding day coordinator:

No bride wants to be a frazzled, upset problem solver on their wedding day. Hiring a wedding day coordinator will mean that details and events will happen as the bride envisioned. It makes no sense to spend countless hours planning for a special day and then leaving the day itself to chance.  A wedding day coordinator (in our opinion) is the most important person a bride will see on the day of the wedding.  Her assistant to bring her well-made plans to fruition.

Enjoy the planning and take the time to contact Events by Jaclyn to discuss wedding day coordination.  It will be a day of a good decision.  We look forward to becoming a part of your perfectly wonderful celebration.
