This will be a very busy year for weddings in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Bridal magazines have revealed the pantone color of the year and we are welcoming new couples as they plan for their 2018 wedding. This year, the combination of blue and red creates the beautiful color of purple.  It will grace many North Carolina wedding venues, and will be seen in floral accents and other decor items. This is the color which will lead the way as an option for today’s nuptials.

The color purple (pantone color of the year)

Darker hues of  violet will be used this year for napkins, plates, and in many stylish bouquets. The scent of lavender and jasmine follows this great color pick. Even wedding attire, in some instances, may be influenced by this new pantone color choice. The perfect color partner for the color purple (in our humble opinion) might be to add a few beautiful gold tones.  Gold table accents such as gold chargers, gold silverware and gold sequin table runners work perfectly with this violet hue. Purple may be used in sand ceremonies, for DJ lighting and even an amazing ice sculpture chosen by the bride and groom could be backlit in purple.

Further, the florist could use greenery mixed with touches of lavender or amethyst crystals to liven up the reception decor and even the bride’s personal flowers. You can allow your imagination to go crazy and add some bold blue touches, even consider the color of jade to mix with the other colors in the floral arrangements.

Amazing autumn and winter weddings for 2018:

Autumn and winter wedding flowers are full of wildflowers and a lot of beautiful green foliage.  You will also notice a palette of yellows, cream colors, orange and pink this year. Adding the color purple can enhance the wedding experience and today’s couples can even use this color to inspire the wedding invitations.

Places for weddings in colder climates:

Nuptials in the park is popular in the city of New York and those cozy carriage rides are a plus in Manhattan. Beautiful wraps of white and cream are being chosen to keep the cold away.  These wraps also provide a great look for those winter wedding pictures.  Our North Carolina brides may choose the beautiful mountain views of Asheville, North Carolina as an option for their wedding location. The Historic Builtmore Mansion is located in Asheville. This is a favorite venue for winter wedding couples.

Winter events are sometimes affected by the cold weather. This may affect the lodging for the wedding and the transportation as well.  If planes are down due to inclement weather, it may be better to have the wedding in a warmer climate when many relatives are traveling to the event.

For autumn weddings this year, brides are considering themed events. This is a wedding based upon a holiday such as Halloween. Color palettes for fall might feature jewel-toned items which can include the color purple in the bouquet along with many other colors of wild flowers.  The new trend called a “naked cake” is also an autumn wedding trend which is catching on around the country.

For Bridal Fashion Week, the wedding dress trends for the bridal party range from the color purple to many blended colors. This creates a peacock effect to wow the wedding guests.
