About two weeks ago, you and your fiancé may have had to discuss a change in your wedding planning. After there was a large number of the Coronavirus cases confirmed in New York and other states, many family members may have even reached out to cancel their RSVP. Now, we are going to break down your wedding options, so you can continue to dream of your beautiful wedding day here in sunny Florida.

Coronavirus wedding planning and postponing:

Although Florida does not have the most confirmed number of Coronavirus cases, we are still number five on the list. As of March 16, Washington state had the most cases at seven hundred sixty-nine cases. The state with the second most number of cases was New York.

California came in third. Massachusetts came in fourth right before Florida in the fifth place. Although we do not have the most cases, travel is truly not recommended.

This is a great time to have a wedding planner or wedding coordinator step up to help you throughout this complicated time. Yes, all brides and grooms right now would like to enjoy their big day with all of their friends and family, but that is not the safest option right now.

As we know, younger guests may be just fine fighting COVID-19, but for their parents and grandparents, the same may not apply. The CDC has shared that while younger people may fight the virus, they may pass it along to others that may not have a such ease. In this time, the CDC recommends not attending gatherings with over ten people.

Wedding alternatives:

In everyone’s best interest, gatherings should not be held in general. Coronavirus wedding planning, rescheduling, and postponing is made much easier with a Day Of Coordinator. With that said, a small family in-home gathering may be the safest option. Scientists encourage everyone to be as safe as possible without being stressed and paranoid.

Similarly, wedding coordinators may still do their job, maybe just later. Think about a two part wedding. Social distancing is necessary for at least these upcoming weeks.

Consider an elopement with just parents and siblings present. Have a videographer and photographer present while also planning a reception for a late date. If you can wait a bit longer, you may also postpone your original, tradition wedding altogether.

Speak with your wedding planner and Day Of Coordinator, or DOC, about speaking with each vendor. Here in Florida, vendors should be willing to work with brides and grooms during the rescheduling process. With a DOC you are sure to stress less and have a safe wedding plan in place.
